Pine Crest 61 American Heritage 59 in Regionals
Our wonderful season came to a close last night at Pine Crest School with a 61-59 loss in the Regional playoffs. It was an awesome atmosphere and a really, really good high school game that saw two good teams compete at a high level. We played our hearts out, and our players left nothing out there and played well enough to win. Unfortunately only one of the teams could win the game, and I give Pine Crest credit - when the clock hit 0.0 they had two more points than we did. I have never been a part of a game where Kenny Boynton shoots ZERO free throws until 3.6 seconds to go in the game - and just one free throw the whole night.I am proud of our program and where it is today, and very proud of our season (20-6) - I just wish for our seniors and our leaders that it would have ended in a different way. The game of basketball is the best in the world, but last night it was going to be cruel to either Pine Crest or Heritage - and we were on the short end of that one. I would like to thank our SENIORS for working hard for the program. To Kenny Boynton, Raymond Taylor (who played a GREAT game), Cameron Simmonds, Everton Chin, Bill Slade, and Jeff Chukwuma - THANK YOU SO MUCH for your contributions.
To our juniors - led by returning starters Juan Ferrales, Marcus Blake, Remi Barry, and Jake Wheeler - the keys to the car are yours. I cannot wait for you guys - along with returners Jake Silver, Mikon Hewitt, and Ryan Williams - to lead us next year to an even better season.
To our supporters - and there are a lot - THANK YOU for supporting our players that work so hard. To everybody else - THANK YOU for making the season fun and enjoyable.
GO PATRIOTS. Always.
